Florida adds south Florida tight end to 2017 commitment list

On Friday night Florida picked up an important commitment from a position of need when Miami (Fla.) Southridge wide receiver Kemore Gamble pledged to the Gators after the annual Orange and Blue Debut.

Because he was headed back home, he was unavialable for immediate comment. However, Gamble did affirm his commitment to Inside the Gators via text message.

“I will make history there. They are getting a 'go-getter' type of player,” messaged the 6-foot-3 220 pound Miami product while using the hashtags #HeadHunter and #NoBodySafeOnTheField

Though Gamble is listed as a wide receiver, the Gators plan to line him up at tight end.

Southridge assistant coach David Cooney added his thoughts as to why Gamble committed to the Gators.

“The atmosphere and he loves that the tight end last year had one million catches for one million yards. He and his mom love that."

In the Alley Rivals analyst Rob Cassidy shared his thoughts on Gamble:

"I think this is going to end up being a nice get for Florida. He had an up-and-down season as a junior because he was sort of caught between tight end and wide receiver frame-wise. He's added some more size and solidified himself as a tight end this offseason and had a really nice day at the Miami Rivals Camp.

"Gamble was initially ranked as a four-star prospect and dropped to a three because of his uneven junior season and questions about where he fit at the college level. These days, he's certainly a candidate to regain that fourth star as a senior. He's made some really nice strides in recent months."

Gamble is the fourth pledge of Jim McElwain’s 2017 Florida Gator class – which is now ranked No. 23 in the nation.
