* Walk-on quarterback Luke Del Rio, who is now listed as a redshirt sophomore on the roster after previously being listed this offseason as a redshirt junior, worked with the first-team offense Wednesday during UF's 11-on-11 team fastball drill. Here was how the first-team offense and defense looked during the first snap of that drill.
FIRST-TEAMERS:

LB - Jarrad Davis
LB - Alex Anzalone
CB - Jalen Tabor
NB - Duke Dawson

* Austin Appleby worked with the second-team offense during fastball, with Jordan Scarlett as his running back. Other players seen with the second string (not the complete group): tight ends Camrin Knight and Moral Stephens; offensive linemen Kavaris Harkless, Brandon Sandifer, T.J. McCoy and Richerd Desir-Jones; defensive linemen Taven Bryan, Khairi Clark; cornerbacks Chris Williamson and Chauncey Gardner; linebackers Matt Rolin, Daniel McMillian and Kylan Johnson; safety Marcell Harris.
* Redshirt freshman linebacker Rayshad Jackson and sophomore running back Jordan Scarlett led the flex period Wednesday.
* Del Rio looked the most polished of the quarterbacks during routes on air Wednesday, while freshman Kyle Trask threw some nice balls as well. Appleby had his ups and downs, ending skeletons with a pick caught on Nick Washington on a pass intended for Ryan Sousa. Feleipe Franks was also erratic in his first Gators practice, throwing a a smooth ball on a completion down deep and then the next throw throwing it too wide. That summed up the start of practice for the freshman early enrollee.
* Mark Thompson is a towering individual compared to the other running backs. He moves pretty well and quickly too at about 6-2, 245 pounds.
* Chris Thompson dropped the first pass of skeletons, while C.J. Worton struggled with his footing a bit during routes on air. Josh Hammond did drop a ball on one route but overall displayed good hands and speed during the rest of the drill. Although a bit small at 5-9, Dre Massey looked agile, showing good feet, hands and burst during drills. Ahmad Fulwood had a good showing at the start of practice, extending well and go up strong for plenty of balls during routes on air and skellys.
* Junior cornerback Jalen Tabor looked to be taking a leadership role with the defensive backs.
* Austin Hardin was not seen at practice. Brandon Powell (foot) and Martez Ivey (shoulder) were both late arrivals following the open portion. Ivey was seen wearing a sling.
* Ivie and Wilson participated in the Gators' drills and so did Anzalone, who wore a shoulder brace under his jersey.
