Florida landed a commitment at a position of need on Friday after their annual Friday Night Lights Camp when Plantation (Fla) American Heritage linebacker James Houston pulled the trigger and pledged to the Gators.

“I feel like it was the best decision for me and my family,” Houston told reporters after the camp. “It’s kind of close to home. With my knee, I could come off of rehab after the season, and the education is great – top in the country.”

Houston recently tore his ACL during the off-season workouts with teammates. Despite the injury Florida, as well as other programs, remained committed to the south Florida linebacker.
