Spring Evaluation Period: Florida visiting many top targets Monday

With high school spring football beginning on Monday throughout the Sunshine state Florida will be hitting the trail hard.

The goal for the Gators staff is to visit as many schools in the state of Florida as they can.

On Friday a bus-load of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy prospects visited Florida, on Monday defensive line coach Chris Rumph and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier will return the favor by stopping by the always-loaded football factory to check out a practice.

A few IMG prospects who have the Gators on their list are tight end Tre McKitty, offensive tackle Robert Hainsey, center Cesar Ruiz, 2018 wide receiver Brian Hightower, and 2018 offensive tackle Curtis Dunlap.

Running backs coach Tim Skipper will be in his main recruiting area of Jacksonville to make his rounds to several high schools. Skipper will meet up with defensive backs coach Torrian Gray in the afternoon so the two can see five-star Ohio State commit Shaun Wade at practice.

Before making the drive up to Jacksonville to see Wade, Gray will see Florida State commit Cyrus Fagan on Monday morning.

Wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon will hit the Atlantic coast on Monday to see practice at New Smyrna Beach, Cocoa, and Mainland. 2019 commit Jaleel McRae is at New Smyrna, Rivals100 athlete Bruce Judson is at Cocoa, and Fagan is at Mainland.

Tight ends coach Greg Nord will be in the North Central Florida area and will finish the day seeing Dunnellon 2019 wide receiver Maurice Goolsby.

Offensive line coach Mike Summers will bounce between Jacksonville and South Georgia. He will see three-star tackle Cordavien Suggs at Fletcher before heading to the Peach State for Rivals250 athlete Deejay Dallas and four-star offensive tackle D’Antne Demery.

Co-Defensive coordinators Geoff Collins and Randy Shannon will be teaming up on Monday in the Orlando area. Five-star Auburn commit Calvin Ashley will get a visit as well as Nick Smith from Dr. Philips, Demarco Artis from Seminole, and Kirby Stacy from Orlando Jones. The two assistants will also stop by Apopka and West Orange.

As the week goes on look for the Gators to focus on Southwest Florida on Tuesday, Tampa/St. Petersburg as well as Polk County on Wednesday, as well as South Florida and the Panhandle on Thursday and Friday.
